The EU Regulation 2021/887 established the European Centre of Competence for Cyber Security Industry, Technology and Research (ECCC) and a Network of National Coordination Centres (NCCs).
In accordance with EU Regulation 2021/887, the Special Service for National Security (SSNS) was entrusted from 1st of January 2025 with the tasks of the National Coordination Centre in Hungary (NCC-HU).
As part of the EU-wide Network of national coordination centres, the NCC-HU, together with the ECCC, forms the new European framework to support innovation and industrial policy in the field of cybersecurity.
NCC-HU has three distinct roles, namely:
- Functioning as a national contact point for the ECCC framework.
- Supporting the strategic tasks of the ECCC.
- Coordinating cybersecurity funding opportunities and investments from the Union
