The National Coordination Centre in Hungary (NCC-HU) serves as a national contact and coordination point to support the European Cybersecurity Industrial, Technology and Research Competence Centre (ECCC) mission and objectives. We cooperate with the ECCC, the European Network of National Coordination Centres (NCCs) as well as the other relevant stakeholders, industry, the public sector, the academic and research community and citizens, bearing in mind the challenges involved in the field of cybersecurity.

What are the objectives of the ECCC and NCCs?

- Enhance the European Union’s cybersecurity capacity and competitiveness.
- Build and strengthen the Cybersecurity Competence Community.
- Promote cyber security awareness and education.
- Synchronise cybersecurity activities across the European Union.
- Pool investments in cybersecurity research, technology and industrial development, and coordinating EU Horizon Europe and Digital Europe funding programmes.
The NCC-HU allows Hungary to take full advantage of the EU’s new investment opportunities.
The mission of the NCC-HU is to support the Hungarian ecosystem in cybersecurity competence and capacity building in order to contribute to the development of the country’s cybersecurity industrial base and strengthens the EU’s strategic autonomy.
What are our responsibilities?
- Promote encourage and facilitate the participation of civil society, industry, in particular start-ups and SMEs, the academic and research communities and other stakeholders at national level in cross-border projects and in cybersecurity actions funded by relevant Union programmes.
- Provide technical assistance to stakeholders by supporting them in the application phase for projects.
- Implement specific actions for which grants have been awarded by the ECCC, including through the provision of financial support to third parties.
- Engage with national authorities regarding possible contributions to promoting and disseminating cybersecurity educational programmes
- Advocate and promote the involvement of relevant entities in the activities arising from the ECCC, the NCCs and the Cybersecurity Competence Community.

What is the Cybersecurity Competence Community?

Our mission is to create a community that shares and spreads cybersecurity expertise across the EU. The Community brings together the main stakeholders with regard to cybersecurity technological, industrial, academic and research capacities in the Union.
