Leírás

A sérülékenységet a hordozható futtatható fájlok (portable executable – PE) Windows Authenticode aláírásának ellenőrzésekor, a WinVerifyTrust függvényben jelentkező hiba okozza, ami kihasználható az aláírt futtatható fájlok módosítására.

A sérülékenység kihasználása tetszőleges kód futtatását teszi lehetővé, ha a felhasználó vagy alkalmazás egy megbízhatónak tűnő, aláírással rendelkező, de valójában módosított PE fájlt futtat.
